Bangs are in, but as the weather heats up a forehead full of hair may seem an unappealing prospect. These choppy, featherlight fringes are the perfect solution; stylish, cool, and easy to manage, a micro-bang works great in even the stickiest weather. The super-short length opens up the face with youthful softness and the choppy edges look great both straight and wavy. To get a fool-proof summer fringe, click style notes for my simple steps. –– Laura Martin

Step: Ask your stylist to sculpt choppy, textured bangs a few inches above your brows. Ask for a razor cut, which will remove bulk as well as length creating a flattering, lean shape. Trim every 3-5 weeks.

Step: Apply a pea of styling creme to the fringe for supple hold. Blow-dry with a comb, which will control ends without adding volume. Point dryer down, working from roots to ends, and push hair back and forth in a wrapping motion until completely dry.

Step: Mist bangs with refinish dry shampoo to prevent oiliness and add a bit of primp working spray for hold.
