This simple updo is an easy way to create modern take on the faithful ponytail. The ponytail is a firm favorite on the catwalks at every fashion week; it gets reinvented time and again. This season we saw it worn higher and more textured, and this is a fabulous example of that look rocked by Meri Wild. It is also a great style to use if you are growing out bangs.
Step: If hair is freshly washed, the prep is important because it is how you create a base to hold in the texture of the pony. Work styling cream into the mid lengths and ends of your hair and loosely blowdry for texture and volume.
Step: When hair is dry, boost texture and volume –– and create some grittiness to help hold the shape of the pony –– with Refinish dry shampoo.
Step: Section out your fringe, brush back, and twist into a mini quiff. Secure with a bobby pin
Step: Brush back your hair into a high ponytail with your fingers and secure with an elastic band. Remember to focus on a disheveled, broken texture –– nothing too slick.
Step: Take a small section of hair and wrap around to hide the band, securing it invisibly with a bobby pin.
Step: Mist with holding spray to fix your style in place. With fingers, scrunch the product through through the lengths of your ponytail to enhance texture.
