Out and about in LA, Victoria’s Secret “Angel” Chanel Iman posted a pic of this adorable ensemble. By keeping her hair up and away from the face, the style has the dramatic, cheekbone-lifting, shoulder-and-neck exposing appeal of an updo, while the braids from the front help the look retain the casual informality of contemporary beauty trends. Chanel looks angelic, but also fearlessly modern, hip, and cool. Steal her hairstyle in the notes.  Click for StyleNotes →

Lately I’ve been into messy braids, but was having a hard time figuring out how to make them just a bit more posh. Inspiration struck when I saw the above photo from the Reem Acra Bridal 2016 show. I loved the nymph effect created by all the jewels, but didn’t want such a princess look. I went on the hunt to find some runway worthy accessories and was able to score some beautiful pins at a vintage boutique. The dainty yet not quite princess pins were the chic factor to my hippie meets runway braid. Care to try on a similar look? Click through to style notes to get the details. –– Michelle Rotbart

Overused words and phrases lose the rich context of their original meaning, becoming clichés. Case in point: beach hair. Before the word “beachy” became the darling of the beauty industry it had lots of connotations: sun streaked, damp, wind-blown, wavy. This style recalls these original associations. It’s not wavy, but the wind blown messiness, seaweed textured tendrils and dampish gloss bring to mind a day at the ocean. Learn to create the look in the style notes. –– Laura Martin

Headscarves are the perfect accessory for summer styles. Summer clothes and accessories tend to be more simple and delicate in nature so adding a bright scarf punches up a style without too much effort. Click the notes for how to achieve these 4 looks. –– Kelly Rowe

This look blends country glamour with urban chic; it walks the line between horseback and catwalk. Loose texture gives the style a romantic finish while asymmetry adds a touch of edginess. Play up this style’s dualistic nature by wearing it with neutral makeup and oversized earrings or add a few flowers and a streak of bright shadow for edgy romance.
