Showing just a bit of something feels erotic: off-the-shoulder tops, peep-toed shoes, long, slit skirts. This principle applies to hair too. Pulling hair up completely to reveal the face and neck doesn’t feel nearly as erotic as leaving it loose, but tucking it in such a way as to cover most of the neck and the side of the face, but revealing the ear. The result is surprisingly flirtatious, even alluring, but in a way that feels unintentional, almost accidental. Try it on your next date. –– Laura Martin Click for StyleNotes →

From her bouncy waves to her faux bob, Gigi Hadid knows how to have amazing hair on and off the runway. Gigi is the inspiration behind many great modern hairstyle lessons, but one of the best is from her date the other night with rumored new beau Zayn Malik. Fashion’s golden girl kept it low-key by twisting her usual free flowing tendrils into a textured low chignon with two face-framing pieces hanging out. No elaborate updo or overdone makeup on Gigi. Leave the complex primping for a night out with the girls because the start of a budding romance should always be chic and easy.
