On the Gucci spring 2013 runway, this paten textured bun topped flowing fabrics in bright, vibrant hues. The glossy shape provides a low volume contrast to full sleeves and flowing skirts. The low, looped shape is chic and wearable, yet the flawless center parting, stiff tips, and wet finish probably make it too severe for everyday wear. But you can transform this look into a cool street style with minor adjustments. A softer, slightly-off-center parting and looser loop will create a more subdued architectural influence. Tying the base with a ribbon will provide contrast and break up the strong lines of the shape.
