Cold and wind, rain and sleet and snow all contribute towards making this the most difficult season to care for tresses. The biggest problem was, is, and ever shall be frizz. The combination of blustering winds, dank days, and snowballs can leave hair incredibly dry and lacking moisture, so as soon as you try to style strands, they simply tuft together in a puffy frizz ball. How matronly! But it doesn’t have to be that way. The right regimen makes styling easier. For tips for your best ever season of winter hair care, click style notes.

Last week the New York Post asked me to give them the inside scoop on hair fragrance and perfumes. The new obsession with hair fragrance is driven by more than just the desire for having nice smelling tendrils. These aromatic hair mists are designed to liven up and even refresh your locks, similar to a dry shampoo. And who doesn’t want their hair smelling like their favorite cleanser long after they’ve left the shower? Now I know you may think, why can’t I just spray my favorite perfume on my hair instead of buying a whole new product? Well unlike regular fragrance, many mists contain multi-benefit vitamins and health giving hair properties. Furthermore, doesn’t hair perfume sound exotic and cool? So as this trending beauty item hits the mainstream, let’s take a look at what it can do for you! Click through to the notes for more info. –– Michelle Rotbart Click for StyleNotes →

Since I’m still obsessing over NOT being on spring break I’m going to stick to the theme and give you the low down on how to prevent frizz while you’re away at some fabulous resort in Mexico.  Once you stop fighting your hair and simply work with it to prevent the fluff that occurs when humidity happens, you’ll be a much happier person. Most of these solutions require little more than two steps, so no need to pack all your products and tools to tame flyaways and calm frizz. All you need is some fineness and some miracle stylers, and of course a fabulous hat. Click through to style notes to get the details. ––  Michelle Rotbart Click for StyleNotes →

The one thing I miss most about university is spring break. The time of year when you can swap out test and projects for friends, parties, and better yet, the beach. It also means that warmer weather is almost here and summer is on the far horizon. For those of you traveling down the coast or just enjoying stay-cation have fun! But don’t forget your spring break beauty essentials. Just because you’re taking a break from school doesn’t mean you get to take a break from great hair.
