Social media star Sofia Richie takes the lead role in he new Tommy Hilfiger Denim campaign, which depicts the life of urban millennials. Joined by Lucky Blue Smith and Anwar Hadid, brother of Gigi and Bella, it looks like generation Y are doing fine. Shot in sun-drenched LA, there’s a strong 70’s California Girl vibe to Sofia’s fashion and beauty look. The grown out bob with side-part and tousled texture points to another season artfully undone, lived-in looks. So grab your Wave Mist, peruse the images below, and get inspired to create your own distressed and cool styles for the spring and summer season.

Shoulder-length hairstyles are usually styled sleek and smooth, or allowed to air dry for the natural texture of a wash and wear style. But adding bouncy volume is another great option. Extra oomph is always sexy, especially when paired with tousled waves. The image above is a great example. The off -center center part creates soft asymmetry for fulsome waves to hang deliciously off of the shoulder. This style works best on minimally layered cuts that sit on – or just above or below – the shoulder. Click through the style notes for tips on getting lots of body in mid-length hairstyles. Amy-Adams-Vanity-Fair-2017-Hollywood-Issue

Image: Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue

Amy Adams steals the show in the latest Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue, due for national release next week. Her glamorous gown and elegant pose are framed by a vintage Hollywood wave, the signature look of the leading ladies of the 40s and 50s. With one side of the hairstyle tucked behind the ear, the ‘do creates beatifying face-face-framing asymmetry. Yet the real magic is the ‘C’-shaped waves falling romantically off the shoulder. It encourages the eyes to look all around the face frame, taking in cheekbones, chin, lips and eyes. A little softer and less severe than the original interpretations of this style, Amy’s take puts the best of old world allure with modern beauty trends. Learn how to recreate it below.  Click for StyleNotes →

Once a runway for jaw-dropping femininity and daring Hollywood looks, the red carpet is transforming into more of street-style spectacle, especially for hair.  Case in point, the 2017 SAG Awards.  Noticeably absent were the hair-sprayed tresses and the over-the-top up-dos seen many times before at red-carpet events.  This time, there was a new look in town: The undone, street-inspired natural and wavy textures that are already ruling 2017. Chrissy Teigen, Brie Larson and Natalie Portman were just a few of the stars rocking natural tresses in a pinned-up or down style with perfectly imperfect presentation.  See below for more of my favorite SAG hair looks. –– Brittany Weiner

Gigi Hadid may be the bigger social media star, but Bella Hadid is a darling of the glossies. In a surprising twist, this editorial from Vogue Paris – which highlights Dior’s Spring Collections – combines high fashions from the French label with an armor and swords fencing story. Perhaps someone was looking to score points in the influencer stakes? Bella’s beauty and the dreamy Dior designs create a captivating editorial but what catches our eye is the slicked back hairstyle. It reminds us of the power and the beauty of a sleek off the face look. It’s a great way to make cheekbones appear stronger and higher while adding drama to any look. There’s more inspirational photos from this collection after the drop.  Click for StyleNotes →
