Last week was Fashion Week in the elegant city of Paris. The French are know for chicness, and the looks we’re seeing for Fall 2015 from the City of Light have just the sort of sophistication we expect from the French. The trends here are riffs on classics: ponytails, braids, chignons, and french twists. These styles featured long strands, straight texture, and high shine. Years ago my grandmother, the chicest woman I know, gifted me a beautiful designer silk scarf. I was dying to incorporate it into my every day look; unfortunately, I couldn’t tie knots –– at least the kind that this scarf deserved –– so it lay on my vanity table collecting dust. The house of Hermès must have been watching. The two-hundred year old brand, famous for leather and scarves, just went digital. Silk Knots is the brand’s first iTunes app, and provides everything one needs to know about how to tie scarves.  The application offers step-by-step tutorials on different ways to create headbands, turbans, fancy knots, and numerous other creative techniques.  Check out the teaser video above and then head to the app store to download Silk Knots, and start creating your own elegant looks. Psst! If you are in New York, you can visit the Hermès pop-up store, now through October 31st, located in The Shops of Columbus Circle. The pop-up has an old school diner theme and is offering scarves, including the new Maxi Twilly line for $290 a piece, ties and other accessories. I’ll be there to get my Jackie O on…–– Michelle Rotbart
