The beauty of brown hair is it’s amazing versatility. An earthy base can either be darkened into a dark chocolate or lightened to a delicious warm honey brown. The current color on trend is the latter, a perfect golden brown hue. We can credit the rise of this color to the Danes, as in the Scandinavian models that are dominating the fashion scene. Examples include everyone from the original cool queen Freja Beha Erichsen whose signature tawny shag is as devil-may-care as her personal style, to rising newcomers like Regitze Christensen and Mathilde Brandi. Will honey brown trump the platinum tresses the Danes are known for? Too early to tell, but click through to the notes to see the sun-kissed brunette manes that  model approved. ––  Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →

As a gal who mostly had long hair all her life, I understand the notion of waking up too late and simply throwing your hair up into a mussy bun. Now that I have a bob haircut I have a harder time accomplishing this look. I beyond love my bob, but now it’s definitely harder to just throw my tendrils up and back. The good news is that it is still possible to rock a messy bun, or at least a great alternative of a half up messy topknot.  Just grab your refinish, pins, and hair ties and you’re good to go. Best part is that this look will take you less than five minutes to complete, so snooze away short-haired sisters! Victoria’s Secret models are know for their long locks and luxe waves, but recently their stars are experimenting with new shorter cuts. The “angel look” may soon mean something different than bouncy blowouts. Back in 2012, Karlie Kloss chopped her hair into a wavy bob that looked fierce on the runway. Now Taylor Hill has cut her strands into a choppy cut gives her gorgeous features a bit of edge. We can’t wait to see it on the runway. Learn how to steal her sexy new cut for your own hair in the notes. –– Laura Martin  Click for StyleNotes →

The street style stars of Paris have quite the spring in their step, or at least in their tendril. Perhaps its because fashion month is almost over or the city’s humid weather or even better they’re all embracing the unofficial Parisian girl uniform of air-dried texture. Loose waves and tousled curls have literally dominated the streets and even appeared several times on the runways. It’s going to be another great season for bends and coils. Take notes ladies, put down the brushes and grab some whip and air-dry your locks. Texture is in this season. When we talk about fashion icons we often mention those with a classical style, but edgy girls need inspiration too. Edie Campbell is young, but she’s already made an impact and her hair has been a huge part of her success. Her first major transformation from a flaxen one-length cut with bangs to an ebony shag debuted on the cover of Vogue. She wears styles that other girls fear – bowls, mullets – and she makes them look sexy and glamorous. Her most recent style is a jet bob-length crop with some very unusual details.
