Perhaps musing over whether or not a 21st century version of an extravagant French queen would let them eat cronuts, CR Fashion Book dedicated their new issue to Marie Antoinette. The highlight is this delicious editorial, starring Lara Stone as the iconic royal. The racy, sexy images put Marie Antoinette into a modern cityscape wearing denim and dresses paired with a sensational messy updo accented with vines and twines. Back in 2009, when Chanel Iman was spotted backstage at the Tommy Hilfiger show sporting bright green DJ headphones, there was a rush to trade the standard white ear buds for the extra large versions typically worn in the booth of a club. Then, when Karl Lagerfeld sent braided and quilted versions down the the Chanel Fall ‘14 and Métiers d’Art ’15 runways, the trend started to catch on. Most recently, Garage featured covers of models Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Binx Walton, and Lara Stone all rocking very futuristic headsets. So as fashion and technology continue to fuse, could headphones really be the next big hair accent? This functional accessory is looking more fashion savvy than ever, but let’s just hope traditional headbands don’t go the way of the portable CD player.
