Pull your hair up and out of your face ladies, because the neck-grazing low chignon is in. Currently underway is men’s Fashion Week in Milan, and low bun’s are all over the street—hardly a high pony or top knot in sight. I’ve spotted everything from tight sleek buns to unraveling knots with face framing wisps. This successful summer style works perfectly for catching the latest show or strolling down to the water-front. And no matter what style you decide to wear, it’ll keep you cool and chic all summer long. The Spring 2017 menswear shows are currently underway in Milan. And while this season is mostly focused on the men, some designers are showing early looks for the ladies as well. Miuccia Prada returned to travel as an overall theme for the season and the ladies strutting down her runway wore amazing gym inspired braids paired with dewy complexions—a great beauty combination for summer. I loved the sporty hair, a look comprised of slim braids that were done diagonally down the crown and finished with a halo of wispys. The models appeared to have just walked out of yoga class, their inner glow showing through. This is gym chic done right. For top models like Karlie Kloss, February is one of the busiest months of the year with fashion weeks in New York, Paris, London and Milan. Lesser-knowns may only walk in a couple of shows, but an in-demand model like Karlie wears the full range of a season’s trends over the course of a few weeks. Karlie’s fashion week looks range from bombshell volume to no nonsense braids, these are the trends to try in the upcoming year. Nonchalant waves are the staple of summer hair, but this fall, hair is starting to pick sides: specifically between sleek straight or joyfully curly. Seen on the streets of Milan last week during the Spring 2016 collections, the clear divide is being dictated by sartorial choice. Those with natural kinks and curls are going for bright and graphic wardrobes, sporting colorful prints while the straight-haired group is streamlining their looks with feminine pieces in neutral palettes. Regardless of weather or natural inclinations of your hair, you’re free too rock whichever look you choose with the help of some waves mist or a smoothing iron. Which will you choose?
