Once a runway for jaw-dropping femininity and daring Hollywood looks, the red carpet is transforming into more of street-style spectacle, especially for hair.  Case in point, the 2017 SAG Awards.  Noticeably absent were the hair-sprayed tresses and the over-the-top up-dos seen many times before at red-carpet events.  This time, there was a new look in town: The undone, street-inspired natural and wavy textures that are already ruling 2017. Chrissy Teigen, Brie Larson and Natalie Portman were just a few of the stars rocking natural tresses in a pinned-up or down style with perfectly imperfect presentation.  See below for more of my favorite SAG hair looks. –– Brittany Weiner

From Natalie Portman to Jessica Alba, buttery praline hues are gaining popularity with celebrities. Praline—a confection made from butter, sugar and nuts—has a warm taupe-caramel hue that’s gorgeous on strands. A blend of a few different levels of the same hue creates intricate, spun-sugar sparkle and soft dimension. A new biopic, titled “Jackie,” on the life of Jackie Kennedy in the days after the assassination of JFK is set for release in 2017 and this is the first teaser pic. Starring Natalie Portman as the First Lady, the picture epitomizes the timeless elegance, beauty and grace of one of America’s most iconic sweethearts. Pairing a string of pearls with a short red suit jacket and skirt, her look is topped off with Jackie’s classic hairstyle: brunette bob, teased and styled with cascading waves. Snapped at the New York premiere of Thor: The Dark World Natalie Portman again showed that she’s a hair color chameleon. Just a couple of weeks ago she wore a honeyed hue, but now the star is adorned by a gleaming dark-chocolate color touch. Styled dramatically pin-straight her blunt, shoulder-grazing locks present a polished and pulled together look for the girl about town this season. Natalie Portman has always had more of a traveled and continental je ne sais quoi than the average Tinsel Town gal. She’s the perfect muse for this luxurious and elegant hairstyle. A look in which the hair is tucked into a vertical roll down the back of the head, the French Twist is often saved for weddings or special occasions, yet it has such Parisian chic it should be worn more often. Try it for brunch with the girls and be the envy of the table.
