As a child of the eighties I have always had a soft spot for crimps. My hair is naturally fine and prone to flatness and crimping it creates volume that doesn’t fall the way curls do. Crimps leave hair fluffy, feathery, and touchable. It’s a texture that’s sultry, like a smoky eye, and with straight hair coming back into fashion; it’s a fantastic alternative to the waves and coils that many of us rely on for root lift. macron hair

In fashion color has become a major way to identify oneself, and the same goes with beauty. In another update on the pastel and rainbow hair trend, macaron color was posted on the internet this week by colorist Shelley Gregory. Gregory was inspired by the macaroons and sweets at the legendary Ladurée, a French luxury bakery. To create the light and vibrant strands, Gregory hand-painted different shades of pastel colors in layers onto sections of hair. The process is similar to the sand art technique but gives the hair a more ethereal and romantic, dream-like appeal. This look is definitely delicious and can even be pulled off in a chic manner, just make sure a professional is creating it. Miranda-Kerr-Vogue-Thailand-December-2015-Cover

Image: Vogue Thailand

Lensed by Russell James, Miranda Kerr simply stuns in the December issue of Vogue Thailand. The pictured front cover image is just a hint of what the full spread reveals –– lots of leg, desirable designer dresses in pastels and florals, a come-hither stare, and some of the most beautiful brunette waves one will see. Get angry at Miranda’s outward perfection in the notes.  Click for StyleNotes →
