Once a runway for jaw-dropping femininity and daring Hollywood looks, the red carpet is transforming into more of street-style spectacle, especially for hair.  Case in point, the 2017 SAG Awards.  Noticeably absent were the hair-sprayed tresses and the over-the-top up-dos seen many times before at red-carpet events.  This time, there was a new look in town: The undone, street-inspired natural and wavy textures that are already ruling 2017. Chrissy Teigen, Brie Larson and Natalie Portman were just a few of the stars rocking natural tresses in a pinned-up or down style with perfectly imperfect presentation.  See below for more of my favorite SAG hair looks. –– Brittany Weiner

Sarah Hyland ran off with the prize for the best fashion and beauty look at last night’s SAG Awards. Wearing a sophisticated yet youthful Vera Wang dress, the Modern Family star chose a sleek from the front contorted in the back version of the French twist hairstyle. The look is intricate and chic, offers lots of visual interest, and keeps all the hair off of the face and neck, so Sarah can show off her beautiful and delicate features. Learn how to create your own version of this style in the notes.

The 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium; the celebrities providing the traditional red carpet flare. Proving that the season’s fabulous ponytails can be worn on short hair, Michelle Dockery fashioned her bob into a chic simple pony accented with a teased crown. The actress paired her beauty look with a bold red lip and a stunning J Mendel tuxedo-style dress, giving the entire style a graphic edge. Interested in a similar look? Though she didn’t win her nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast, Jennifer Garner was a beauty all-star on the red carpet during the 20th Annual SAG Awards. The actress was picture perfect in a strapless, navy Max Mara gown paired with Brian Atwood shoes and David Webb jewelry. Jennifer completed the look with an airy, romantic updo that was swept off the face and showed off her neck, collarbone, and earrings. Care for a similar beautifully twisted do?
