We love this cool, nonchalant look with brilliant bangs and youthful allure. What a great style to go for in 2016! There are lots of loose and space-creating layers in the style and this encourages the natural-looking movement of the waves. The full, deep-set bangs give graphic fringe emphasis and put attention on the eyes, cheekbones and chin –– a lady’s most beautifying facial features. The sun-kissed ends, hand-painted in the ombre fashion, add magic to the cascading length. To achieve a similar look, check the style notes.

Can we talk for a minute about how much I love Spotify’s “Discover Weekly” playlist? In the past I’ve always been pretty disappointed with technological attempts to predict my taste. Amazon is not good at recommending books I’ll like, Pandora playlists constantly disappoint, but the Discover Weekly playlist knows me well. It was there that I first found Danish singer/songwriter Agnes Obel. Check out her clear voice and melancholy melodies, here She’s a genius on the piano. She also has fantastic hair. She wears her golden strands in understated braids, knots, and ponytails that look both girlish and grownup thanks to subtle wisps and glossy shine. Get tips for creating her quirky classic looks in the style notes. Click for StyleNotes →

The beauty of this braid is that it helps to show off Miley’s graduated dark to light ombre highlighting, while featuring the beatnik beauty and grace of a disheveled entwine. We love this style because it is soft and romantic –– and great for summer weekends away! –– yet the casual undone look creates a low-slung tousled élan that has more of a gritty, street-tough edge than a typical Cyrus style.

“Some girls never wear bangs because they are traumatized by an old cheerleading photo with the infamous ‘bubble’ bang,” says Cheryl Fazio , senior stylist at ARROJO studio. “Others are conscious of cowlicks or achieving the right shape. But the best bang styles lift you up, frame the features, draw attention to eyes. They can make the difference between a good and a great style.” So, how do you make them great? Read on for Cheryl’s professional bang styling how-to…

For nearly two decades Jennifer Anniston has been a paragon of hairstyle and she is still wearing great hair! These two looks show the how the same hairstyle –– even an archetypal shoulder-grazing layer cut –– can be changed up with inventive hair dressing at home. The textured look is more on trend –– and has more of a romantic, cascading face-frame –– while the straighter style shows us how a ten minute blast with a blowdryer can support natural and casual daytime styles.
