Sometimes watching beauty campaigns just makes you feel like you need to buy lots of products, but every once in a while someone will make an add that actually feels empowering. The video above, part of the Dove “Love Your Hair” campaign, is all about wearing your hair the way that feels most comfortable to you, instead of letting other people tell you how you should look. This spring, the beret is making a comeback. It’s not hard to see why—francophile style is all the rage—but it is a little hard to see how. Berets have become such a stereotypical indicator of French-ness that we now associate them with Pepe Le Pew. Berets are also associated with beatniks, jazz musicians, and Che Guevara.
