Thursday, I’m finally headed on a much-needed vacation, where I’ll have lots of wine and lots of pool time. Wherever you’re headed, sun, beach or pool, when on vacation remember that your great escape should extend to your locks. Holidays in the sun—and more specifically UV rays, humidity, chlorine and other things that can come with it, can seriously damage your strands. If you’re not taking the right steps to care for your hair, you may end up with faded color and dry hair as souvenirs. But don’t fret, I have a great list of things you need to bring with you on your next trip to keep hair healthy and gorgeous on your time off! –– Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →

So what’s a long-hair-don’t-care kinda girl to do? Put your hair up! I’ve seen a plethora of celebrity and it-girl editorials offering hot weather hair inspiration. The options are endless, and they’re anything but meh. Click through for images. –– Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →

hydrated hair in summer

Just because winter is over, doesn’t mean you’re free from dry hair. Sun, salt, chlorine and almost all outdoor water activities can take a hit on your locks. Too much sun exposure to your hair can leave it dull, susceptible to breakage and even cause some funky color changes. But there is a solution, and it’s not staying inside all day and missing out on the roof top pools parties. With the right great-ingredient packed products you can restore and maintain moisture and balance in your hair all the way through September. Ready for some amazing summer locks?
