For the season’s latest hairstyles you don’t have to look much further than your feed.

Less than a decade ago, trends in beauty remained relatively consistent for seasons at a time. Now, however, beauty inspiration doesn’t only come from runway and celebrities. Everyday we’re privy to the personal lives of social media personalities and starlets which helps influence our hair color and style options. Online platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube have given birth to plenty of the moment looks and are at times the most influential. Don’t believe me? After seasons and seasons of washing our hair as little as possible, it maybe time to make the switch from unwashed lengths, or at least look like it. Since this summer is all about sleek and wet hair looks that last way beyond the shower, it’s time to rock a look that looks like you just combed it back after a quick dip in the water. I’ve seen everyone from cool girls like Joan Smalls walk the red carpet wearing this look to girls on the runway at Calvin Klein and Dior strut down the runway wearing wet lengths. But you don’t have to be a celebrity or at fashion week to wear this style. It translates into everyday quite easily, becoming a more softer and cleaner approach that just boarders on the wet look. The Spring 2017 menswear shows are currently underway in Milan. And while this season is mostly focused on the men, some designers are showing early looks for the ladies as well. Miuccia Prada returned to travel as an overall theme for the season and the ladies strutting down her runway wore amazing gym inspired braids paired with dewy complexions—a great beauty combination for summer. I loved the sporty hair, a look comprised of slim braids that were done diagonally down the crown and finished with a halo of wispys. The models appeared to have just walked out of yoga class, their inner glow showing through. This is gym chic done right. Great waves and beachy tendrils are my most wanted summer style, even if I’m no where near the surf. And for those of you who didn’t know, beach waves and short hair are not mutually exclusive. Whether your hair ends just at your collarbone or hangs by your ears, all you need to achieve #beachvibes is a great styler that encourages waves and texture and a whole lot of inspiration. To get you started I pulled together a collection of my favorite gals rocking collarbone-grazing waves in the notes. –– Michelle Rotbart Click for StyleNotes →

Her explanation of R&B may have lacked luster, but Zendaya can still pull off a shimmering hairdo. Seen walking the red carpet to the Billboard Music Awards, the popster shows off a sleek straight style, reminiscent of the keratin-straight look made famous in the ‘90s. This glamorous high shine finish is great for a night on the town. Learn how to recreate it at home. . .   Click for StyleNotes →
