For the season’s latest hairstyles you don’t have to look much further than your feed.

Less than a decade ago, trends in beauty remained relatively consistent for seasons at a time. Now, however, beauty inspiration doesn’t only come from runway and celebrities. Everyday we’re privy to the personal lives of social media personalities and starlets which helps influence our hair color and style options. Online platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube have given birth to plenty of the moment looks and are at times the most influential. Don’t believe me? Saint Laurent has always been associated with glamour, a notion that was brought back at last week’s surprise couture show in Paris. The show offered a heavy dose of ‘80s glamour, utilizing more-is-more in terms of beauty. Strong slicked back strands, dark eye makeup, and crimson pouts called to mind the YSL of that decade and created an overall powerful look. Will this new style at Saint Laurent inspire the runways to rethink the natural girl vibe that has governed the scene for the last decade? I can’t say, but who doesn’t love a chance to play dress up. hair tuck

Like me, I know many of you are only willing to do the minimum to look great at all times. My main goal in looking great is being nonchalant, comfortable and confident. So when I again spotted the hair tuck look on model Stella Maxwell’s instagram, I knew this was a look to spotlight. This style is a shining example of the fashion world handing us a beauty trick so easy to use, and yet so effective in it’s simplicity, it would be a faux pas not to use it. Braids are a beautiful way to add texture to your strands, and this technique, which weaves together different sizes of plaits, creates an especially complex and visually interesting surface. The style is simple to create and looks great with dimensional color techniques like ombre or hand painted highlights. Wear this braid on its own or use it as an accent to beachy waves.
