Shared with us by Peggie Huang, stylist at ARROJO Studio SoHo, we love both the artistry of this chunky plait on the bias, and the way the tail of the braid has been fanned out into wonderfully nonchalant wisps. Peggie was also kind enough to share her steps to creating this eye-catching look. Great for a night out, a weekend brunch, or even just keeping hair off of the neck in this Indian Summer, learn how to create it in the notes.

Think chic cuffs are only for your wrists? Think again. The new trending decoration, the bun cuff, is an amazing multifunctional accessory that doubles as jewelry for your hair. It’s the perfect way to dress up your top knot, messy bun, or half-up style and is completely effortless to wear. I’ve spotted some amazing options on Free People.com featuring statement stones and elastic backs which are fabulous for the festival circuit. Or if you’re into a more a minimalist chic look, the Jen Atkin x Chloe +Isabel collaboration has contemporary, metallic cuffs, secured by a U-shaped pin. I’ve also seen ladies on Instagram rocking the cuffs on their wrists as bracelets, which is definitely more fashionable than rocking a black hair tie. Are you ready to wear this trendy game-changer? Usually I’d love to just attend an event with my waves simply flowing, but who wants to be sweaty and uncomfortable in the summer heat? So why not opt to do a classic chignon? They’re sleek, sophisticated and best of all will keep you cool. And if you’re already at your budget with shoes and makeup (I know I am), why not opt to do one yourself? They’re a little bit tricky, but with some practice you’ll get it. Click through to the notes to get started.  –– Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →

I often struggle with figuring out the best and easiest ways to adorn my hair. Usually I like to just let it go loose and wavy, but there are times that I need to put it up. I like to use barrettes at the base of my ponytail but I kept finding that they would constantly become unfastened. This became really annoying until I figured out how to actually get one to stay in. It’s a quick and easy trick and will definitely ensure your pony stays clipped. To learn my trick, click through to style notes. –– Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →
