The Art of Hair Extensions

EBONY, EVERYDAY, LONG, NOTED, REAL WOMEN, STYLE, TRENDING

Here’s fun! Master stylist at ARROJO NYC, Amanda Jenkins  has done everything from styling rock bands to creating trends at New York Fashion Week to decorating the Tokyo skyline with her editorial collections. Recently, she’s been working with a lot of clients who want to use extensions for more of a head-turning look. Happily, she shared a recent extension service with Style Noted. We can see from the before and after images how the extended strands give the client more confidence. But what’s most impressive is how natural they look. It just goes to show how far the art of extensions has come. If it’s something that may interest you, click style notes for Amanda’s expert insight to getting it done.

Step: For this model, I used simplicity extensions. It’s a unique type of real hair adhesive extension that binds easily and securely to the client’s natural locks.

Step: I find them gentler on the hair than traditional bond extensions, making them perfect for anyone that wants to thicken hair or add color without the commitment of actually coloring.

Step: They only take an hour or so to apply, which is great for me, and great for my clients.

Step: As a hairdresser, normally I create transformation by taking away length. It’s fun and creative to do the opposite! It just goes to show that there are many ways to change up your look!

Special thanks to Amanda Jenkins for sharing her images and work with Style Noted.
