celeb pixie cuts

Long locks are always a do, but when you’re ready to ditch the mermaid hair and be Audrey Hepburn chic, it’s time to don the pixie cut. The short style was first popularized in the late 1950s, mostly inspired by Audrey and Mia Farrow. The style is having a resurgence in popularity today. Open a magazine or watch a show, and one of your favorite celebrities will be wearing a short do. Dare to wear your hair short, whether feminine or sassy. Michelle Williams- My favorite part about Michelle’s style is that she always looks fresh and glowing. Whether she is in an Oscar gown or on the street, the actress always styles herself with a cool approach.  Her ultra-feminine style is well juxtaposed with her short pixie cut –– introducing a cheeky allure to her soft appearance. This attribute is what pushes her look past uber-girly and in to modernly posh. For a look like Michelle, cocktail shine luxe oil with a dab of hair creme and run fingers casually through hair. The combo creates shine and soft texture––an irreverently voguish style.

Evan Rachel Wood– Rachel’s credits include dating Marilyn Manson, playing a hot vampire queen, and being described as “one of the best actresses of her generation.” She is clearly doing something right style-wise –– her pixie cut. With a devil may care attitude, Evan Rachel’s fierce crop makes her look daring and gorgeous. For a look like the adventurous actress, apply volume foam to damp hair and blowdry in different directions off the face. Add in a dab of texture paste and finger comb hair back and to the side. Spray with primp.

Halle Barry- An early adopter of the sassy crop, Halle knows the rules of rocking a pixie. Her look is always effortlessly put together: The hair is always easy with just the right amount of attitude and the clothes match the insouciant vibe. I love how she mixes layers and volume within her silhouettes, opting for draped tanks and summer knits. For the glamorous and easy do of Halle, apply styling creme through hair and finger through. Use a small ceramic round brush to pull hair forward towards the face. Let air dry. Mist with primp.

Ginnifer Goodwin- A style chameleon, Ginnifer usually experiments with her outfits, but she’s been wearing a pixie cut for years. At times, she is sleek and clad in all black and then she’s wearing a paisley bohemian dress. Either way, she’s made her hair part of her signature style. She wears her crop longer and her bangs swept to the side. For a look like Ginnifer, simply apply styling whip to damp hair and blowdry. Pull bangs forward and to the side.
