The editors at Glamour Magazine were so influenced by the free-spirited trends of the spring / summer runway collections that they invited the ultimate flower of hippie chic — Rachel Zoe— to style their recent You Gotta Go Boho editorial. The shoot features models Hind Sahli and Melissa Johannsen and showcases “perfect examples of wearable chic.” Zoe paired several designers, like Emilio Pucchi, Tom Ford, Dries Van Noten, and Hermes to get the best combination of textures and colors. She also mixed flowing feminine dresses with macho outerwear to add some boy-girl tension to the piece. To see what you need to achieve this editorial look, click through to style notes.

Although it looks like an over-abundance of layers, the design-savvy will tell you to combine only two or three of these components. In fashion and beauty, less is more, and this way it won’t look like you are trying too hard.

Over-Sized Glasses: Round or square frames are a staple to any hippie-chic outfit, and a key summer accessory.

Tassel Necklace: Style a tassel necklace with a cool long tunic and sandals and they can beat themselves up with a bohemian stick and they still won’t be as boho as you.

White Separates:  Gives off a carefree attitude, and white is great to go to the land of the ethereal, which is a great complement to the whimsy of bohemian fashions.

Floppy Hats: A wide-brim hat is a flouncy and glamorous essential for the shabby-chic. Plus, it will protect hair and face from the sun.

Dark Smokey Eye: Make sure you have an eye primer, and lots of black mascara.

Big Waves or Braids: Create big waves with volume foam and styling creme and some turns of a curling iron or wand. Alternatively, create boho braids with pomade.
