comb over

Most of the information in Google’s 2015 Beauty Report is no surprise. Braids are still big. Purple, silver, and ash blonde are the most consistently searched colors. But, unexpectedly, men’s hair has become a very popular search, especially the man bun and the comb over. Yes, comb over. At first I thought this had something to do with Donald Trump running for public office, but it turns out that the term has been appropriated for vintage styles reminiscent of Don Draper. Step: Ask for a barbered shape with a long top, cut square to remove bulk while maintaining structure.

Step: After showering, apply a quarter of hair gel to damp strands and comb through. Part deeply, sculpt into a pompadour or slick to one side.

Step: Add a dab of pomade, smoothing over the surface. For stubborn texture, mist lightly with holding spray.
