Remember back in the day when you would get up early and anguish in front of the mirror to straighten and flatten your hair? I do. But I’m still trying to block that horrid memory out. Luckily, the the days of having to wear super straight hair are long gone and all the cool girls are wearing low key tousled waves with a center part. Accomplished with either a wand or some air drying and scrunching, this trending look has become a go-to for the festival circuit, and is even appearing on red carpets. Best yet, this style works on all hair lengths. Ready to tousle your locks? Click through to style notes to learn how. –– Michelle Rotbart
Step One: Cleanse and condition with your favorite shampoo and conditioner duo. After you get out of the shower, dry hair to damp with paper towels and comb out tangles.
Step Two: Spray wave mist generously into hair and scrunch with paper towels until dry.
Step Three: Once hair is completely dry, spray in protective thickening lotion and use a wand to curl random pieces of hair around your head.
Step Four: Once your satisfied with the curled pieces, break them up by raking your fingers through your head. Continue to scrunch and tousle and finish with a few sprays of refinish.
