As ready as I am for sweater weather, I know that all too soon I’ll be missing the bright and sunny days of summer and the low-key, playful fashion that accompanies them. Before it’s over, I plan to eat as many tomatoes as I can, to go through one last rotation of my favorite summer dresses, and to wear all my favorite summer hair trends. Click the notes to see my end of summer beauty bucket list. –– Laura Martin

#1: Pastel Colors. The palette for fall is darker and stronger, with saturated hues. To avoid restricting my fall fashion choices, I’m giving my hair a pale violet glaze now which should fade to a cool ash tone by the equinox.

#2: Wet Look. I love wet look hair, especially paired with flirty/sporty skater dresses. Come fall, I’m sure I’ll find leaving the house with damp hair much less appealing.

#3: Short Bangs: This summer I’ve been wearing my fringe a bit choppy and just above my eyebrows, which keeps it out of my eyes and on-trend. I’m going for one last trim, then growing out to something longer and side-swept for fall.
