Last week, Paris Fashion Week gave celebs an excuse to strut along the Champs-Élysées sporting new fall fashions. If Dianna Agron is the harbinger, the nineteen-sixties throwback era is here. Her outfit for Miu Miu Spring/Summer show reminds us of the glamorous Pan-Am stewardesses from the golden age of air travel; her hair, backcombed and kept off the face, characterizes the beginnings of the elegant, modern styles that freed women from the tyranny of the six-hour roller-set. We love how this updo exposes Dianna’s delicate, pretty features while defining an era-inspired look. This type of hair arrangement is formal enough for a wedding or prom, and cool enough for cocktails and brunch.
Step: To damp hair, apply set and style spray roots to ends and defrizz serum along the mid-shafts to ends. Blowdry with paddle brush, making hair nice and smooth.
Step: Just in front of the ears, create a parting that splits hair into two, front and back sections.
Step: Backcomb the back section until you get height and volume. Gather any excess hair in the back and pull into a low bun.
Step: Sleek front section down and to the side. Use pins if necessary. Add a little shine spray to the front to help to keep it sleek, and to add sparkle.
