In the new Star Wars movie, when Han and Leia are reunited after a long separation, the first thing he says to her is, “You changed your hair.” It may seem an arbitrary observation, but a new hairstyle is rarely a purely aesthetic adjustment. Our hair is one of the primary ways we self-identify. What’s happening on our heads usually reveals a lot about what’s going on in our minds. Getting a dramatic color change or major chop has a huge emotional impact. In fact, I’d argue that changing your hair is one of the most powerful symbolic gestures a person can make. What does your hair say about you? –– Laura Martin
Short hair says that you’re not afraid to stand out, that you’re confident, that you’re easy going. Short hair says simplicity, that you’ve got nothing to hide, that you’re confident.
Long hair says that you’re feminine, that you like versatility, that you’re classic, that you feel stable. Long hair says sensuality, it says comfort.
Medium hair length says balance, poise, and equilibrium. It says contemporary, chic, and polished. It says playful and easy going.
